Download Ambrai Smalltalk

There are two distinct downloads on this page, one for the evaluation version and the other for the commercial version of Ambrai Smalltalk. Please read the details under each heading before you proceed.

Note that both downloads are actually Ambrai Smalltalk version 1.0.11 repackaged to version 1.1 in order to deal with the licensing differences between the evaluation and commercial versions. Version 1.0.12 has been renamed 1.2 and will be available shortly.

If you decide to purchase a commercial license for version 1.1 now, you will get version 1.2 at no additional cost as soon as it becomes available.

Ambrai Smalltalk Evaluation

The evaluation version is a time-limited copy of the commercial product. Both the Smalltalk IDE and the applications packaged with the Smalltalk IDE will expire at a set date.

Requirements: Ambrai Smalltalk Evaluation requires Mac OS X 10.3 (Panther) or later. See the included readme file for installation instructions.

Ambrai Smalltalk Commercial

The commercial version allows you to distribute and sell software that you develop. The license is perpetual and does not expire.

You need to purchase a license key to unlock the commercial version. If you purchase a commercial license for version 1.1 now, you will get version 1.2 at no additional cost as soon as it becomes available.

The commercial version will not run in evaluation mode, please download the evaluation version if you wish to try out Ambrai Smalltalk.
